Ein Atelierhaus im Glockenbachviertel wird mobil. Da es in München oft schwierig ist Räume für kreatives Schaffen zu finden, wollen die 35 Kunstschaffenden aus dem Münchner Atelierhaus Klenzestraße/Baumstraße ab 2016 in mobilen Modulen arbeiten, die, wie das Oktoberfest, temporär auf und abgebaut werden und an neue Orte wandern können. Das Urbane NaturNetz München verbindet bestehende Parks und Grünzüge der einzelnen Stadtbezirke miteinander. Fuß- und Radwege schaffen Verbindungen, die auch aus der Stadt hinaus in die freie Landschaft und in die Stadt hinein führen.
Ziel:
Die Aufenthaltsqualität auf diesen grünen Verbindungsachsen soll nachhaltig verbessert werden. Kommunikation soll entestehen, sich hinsetzen, eine Pause machen, kulturelle Anregungen bekommen. Nahmobilität wird gefördert. Zu Fuß oder mit dem Fahrrad in den nächsten Park kommen und weiter in den nächsten Park.
we built this little weekend cottage almost on the day 20 years ago. it was used intensively, 20 summers and 20 winters.
it saw a wood-burning stove been built into itself, it saw heavy hail, it saw warm evenings and nikolaus celebrations.
and now, after these two wonderful decades, it’s owners decided to spend the weekends elsewhere, and returned the leased piece of land.
our little heroe here, the cottage, was dismatled this saturday by three guys in under three hours, and should find itself now on its way to its second life. they say its heading east-south-east, to be re-erected on some meadow on some mound with some view.
this might be, what Werner Sobek’s is talking about: Architecture Isn’t Here to Stay – Toward a Reversibility of Construction.

something in the 1st floor bathroom of a 1860s chapelfieldian terrace seems to have had some leak – one day it all went down to ground floor. the collapsed extension was replaced by a single-storey annex, kitchen & bathroom, in the early 1980s.

Die einprägsame städtebauliche Figur der Wohnsiedlung Askren Manor erinnert an weltbekannte Siedlungsentwicklungen der Architektur und des Städtebaus der Moderne in den 20er und 50er Jahren.
Die räumliche Qualitäten, die Askren Manor einbeschrieben sind und an Siedlungen von Ernst May in Frankfurt (z.B. Römerstadt) erinnern, konnten bisher durch die fehlende Anbindung an die Umgebung, die autogerechte innere Erschließung, die gleichartigen Wohntypologien und die sterile Gestaltung der Details nicht zum Tragen kommen. The competition site is Central Square – the largest open public space in the city of Plovdiv.
Plovdiv is the second-largest city in Bulgaria. It is situated 146 km southeast of the capital city of Sofia. It blends the relaxed atmosphere of a provincial town with the busy daily grind of a contemporary major center. Plovdiv is an old city of thousands of years of history. Its significant cultural-historical heritage encompasses the Antiquity, the Ottoman period and the Bulgarian Revival, the after-Liberation period of the Third Bulgarian State, the Socialist period. Ample and valuable material evidence has been preserved from each of these periods. The landmarks however are far from coexisting in an organic body, even more so given the current rhythm of city life.
What Plovdiv needs is a contemporary public space which should neither turn its back on history, nor lose its touch with the present. The international architectural design competition for Central Square in Plovdiv has been announced in an effort to find a solution to the problem in open architectural competition. Continue reading

The world’s population is growing and concentrating in cities. This is a process that started with the industrial revolution two hundred years ago and is still on-going in an intense way. A 2011 UN report on human settlements estimates that 70% of the world’s population will be living in cities by 2050. In this context, cities need to develop an economic and environmentally sustainable growth in order to improve the quality of life for all. Cities will have a major role dealing with the fundamental challenges of the 21st century: climate change and other environmental threats; high consumption of non-renewable resources; economic development; growing populations; and ageing infrastructures. eine eher zufällige momentaufnahme der belegschaft/crew des »103er«, eines städtischen freizeitheims, in der obergeisinger perlacher straße gelegen, am 25. oktober 2013.
aleyna, armin, batukan, belmin, burak, daniel, denis, dennis, erdem, francesco, giovanni, lukas, naser, nihade, oguzhan, piranavan, roman und sergio, die waren alle da. nach der schule und bevor dann daheim was los ist. oder zwischen der schule, das aktualisierte schulsystem erlaubt ja die tollsten scenarios, kurz mal pause und dann noch mal nachmittags kurz dies oder das.
aber die waren da, an diesem freitag im späten herbst und haben ein abbild als dreidimensionales tag hinterlassen, als etwas, was als gruppe vielleicht in 20 oder 30 jahren das MAGiaZINg immer noch zusammenhält. die handabgüsse von alenya und den anderen werden sich dann eine dicke, matte schützende oxidschicht zugelegt haben, während sich von dieser hier einmal zufällig zusammengewürfelt wordenen truppe die/der eine sich auf in die weite welt gemacht haben wird der/die andere/r aber immer in obergiesing geblieben sein wird, die/der eine nix geworden ist von dem man jedoch sagt das er/sie was geworden sei oder eben andersrum.

of course, learning about space is predominantly happening by absorbing, feeling, analysing spaces; plus perhaps a little introduction hereunto. should you agree so far, then it sure will be self-evident, that a space-teaching purposed space could by no means be undermined with that polygreyish softcornered corporate office outfit visual pollution.
room 2207 was transformed from this corporate office into a flexible multipurpose space:

like many of our relatives in the mammal-division, shriveling-up in the cold season is the strategy we used here too: an off-the-rack flat-pack greenhouse becomes abused as a warming cell.
by letting it swallow the seriously dimensioned radiator you can easily achieve a 10 to 24°C in under 100 seconds!

positively not!
we developed an a) easy fittable/customizable, b) low impact, c) low cost strategy, lending the easy-to-shape eps/xps topped with fiber-re-inforced resin strategy from the surfboard-industry, its surface analoguely waxed for perfect grip.
we added a spray-protecting translucent sheet of plastic held by a bend stainless tube that additionaly serves for holding-on purposes without looking too much like we are in serious geriatry here. it can hold towels too.
the, now exposed, lower part of the wall formerly covered by the bathtub is waterprotected with the means of flat-roof-construction: roofing membrane pressed to the prefabricated shower-unit and just pressed to the wall when on site.

die schafe [paarhufer] machens uns hier vor, wie man ein knappes insuläres stück freiraum, dies rasenstück, diesen grünstreifen kurz mal nutzt bevor du weiterziehst deines weges. die wölfe, ihrerseits auch herdentriebig, folgen ihren paarhufigen anverwandten; oder umgekehrt; so genau weiss man das nicht. aber die schafe und wölfe folgen sich in straßen und an sog. plätze in/an denen wo du noch nie wen draussen rumlungern gesehen hast: sie rasten an genau den zwischenräumen wo sonst allenfalls zerzüchtetes dackel- & pudelzeugs desabends noch mal kurz hingeführt werden. und laden dich dort, destags und desnachts ein. dich als teil einer eben gerade nicht kategorisierbaren sorte von nutzern/innen des öffentlichen raums: nicht der coole gärtnerplatzler, nicht der endfertige hauptbahnhofler.

der »freizeittreff 103er«, eine freizeiteinrichtung für jugendliche in der perlacher straße 103 in obergiesing, münchen benötigt für seinen mehrzwecksaal einen lagerraum zur parkierung der gerätschaften für nutzungen der jeweilig anderen zwecke. das lagergebäude soll dem bestand nach westen hin zur seite gestellt werden. der kreisjugendring münchen stadt betreibt die im eigentum der landeshauptstadt münchen sich befindende einrichtung.
die bauliche substanz des »103ers« ist ein eingeschossiger freistehender atriumbau quadratischen grundrisses der kantenlänge von 23,50 m, eine teilunterkellerte stahlbetonskelettkonstruktion (bj. 1964) auf einem großzügigen mit überaus beeindruckenden walnussbäumen (juglans regia) überstandenem grundstück. die nachbarbebauung besteht im wesentlichen aus mehrgeschossigem sozialem wohnungsbau.
the »freizeittreff 103er«, a recreational facility for youth in the perlacher street 103 in obergiesing, münchen, for its multi-purpose hall needs a stockroom for parking of equipment used for non-actual purposes. the stockroom was to be placed to its western side. the kreisjugendring münchen city operates the facility, a property of the city of münchen.
substance of the »103er« is square single-storey freestanding atrium-building of an edge length of 23,50 m with partial basement in skeleton construction from reinforced concrete (built in 1964) situated on a generous plot, hosting impressive walnut trees (juglans regia). the neighboring buildings consist essentially of multi-storey social housing. a downtown daegu han-ok bound for demolition within a fortnight from now has its last moments of fame as location for an intimate exhibition of plans & models of –still-alive– neighbouring conspecifics: 5 urban han-oks drawn and built to scale by 20 students in the module architectural design basics at the department of architectural engineering of keimyung university, initiated and organized by martina günther.
the 2012 subject of EAROPH [Eastern Regional Organization for Planning and Human Settlements world congress] being »Green City for Human Betterment«, a handful of interdiciplinary [landscape architecture and interior/environmental design] student-teams from keimyung university supervised by prof. martina günther were participating at EAROPH’s youth leaders‘ forum.
2 of her teams were successful in the poster prize (research/project) looking for »Strategies for Carving Out Green City«:

from the 10th to the 16th of october 2012 we are showing a selection of our work at daegu architectural culture biennale in daegu, including a double-folded 12 m long panorama of our transformation of a »baywa-hall« plus several models.
whilst german urbanism is represented by our colleagues from astoc and their hafencity hamburg, we are covering in the architectural part of this »international korea-germany architectural exchange exhibition« focussing on re-development.
